Pogostemon erectus performs well under medium lighting, but stronger planted-tank lighting brings out the compact appearance aquascapers usually want.
Under good lighting, the distance between growth nodes remains tighter and the plant develops its characteristic dense, upright appearance.
In lower light, growth may become taller, thinner and less compact.
